CC Castañeda

CC Castañeda is a Mexican American artist creating paintings with a focus on cannabis culture incorporating Colorado nature scenes and a look at social taboos such as nudity. She hopes her work invites the viewer to “Awaken the Youiverse Within” by using cannabis to heal the mind, soul and body. Her work also includes wire wrapping crystals, weaving hemp jewelry and painting or embossing greeting cards. CC inherited Huntington’s, a neurodegenerative genetic disease, that causes severe pain, involuntary movements and seizures. In August 2017, she moved as a medical refugee from Texas to Colorado to save her life.

Today she is three years wheelchair free and nine months seizure free. Her artwork is therapeutic and helps pay for travel expenses to see her two daughters, ages 11 and 15, still residing in Texas.
